Thea was rescued from Indiana County Humane Society back in 2003. She was a former bait dog and when brought into the shelter was only 35 pounds. She was in the shelter for a month with no interest. I’m sure because she was a pit bull!! She was the quietest, calmest dog there, so we took her for a walk. She was wonderful, we fell instantly in love. We took her home that night! Thea did have some issues with separation anxiety but we worked thru them with her and she was the most amazing girl that you could ever meet!! She loved toys and belly rubs, treats and cuddle time! She was a 68 pound lap dog! And I loved every minute of it! She was a wonderful breed ambassador. Anyone that ever met her fell madly in love. She would freely lick your face off if given the chance. Thea would jump at the chance to go for a car ride or a camping trip! She never missed a minute of fun! Thea was ever so gentle with every little kid she met, patiently standing there while they would pet her head. Again kissing faces freely!! Her golden eyes were so soulful they could melt even the coldest heart. She could look at you and make your worst day seem better. Thea was my best friend!! She made me fall in love with this amazing breed and dedicate my life to saving them. It’s because of what she taught me that has made me want to teach others. We are lucky to be able to earn the love of a pit bull! Thea’s Promise Pitbull Rescue was formed in March of 2012 to honor the memory of one amazing pit bull. One pit bull that changed my life forever and has helped change the lives of many pit bulls since then. Thank you Thea, I love you and miss you!
